Trained as an Experimental Psychologist, Alan worked as an educator and trainer before practicing as a professional counsellor. He started his practice in 1999 as Temasek Polytechnic’s Staff Psychologist, serving her 1,300 academic and administrative staff for more than 2 years. He started his private practice, Balanced Consulting, in 2003, working private and corporate clients. Since October 2009, he was also appointed as a Staff Counsellor to Nanyang Technological University’s 5,000 faculty, research and administrative staff. Alan is a Singapore Registered Counsellor with the Singapore Association for Counselling, and a Life Member with the Singapore Psychological Society. He has been designated a Special Supervisor, Trainer, Examiner and Consultant to the Canadian Council of Professional Certification (CCPC). Alan is also registered with the CCPC as a Certified Solution-Focused Therapist and a Certified Solution-Focused Coach.
